Welcome Pirates!
In 2006, a group of SMHS Band Alumni got together and decided that high
school reunions were not cutting it! Band alumni (better known as band
geeks) do not fit into the standard "Class of" mode. Friendships made
in band spanned graduation classes - making standard reunions obsolete.
It was decided to have our own reunion. The first call went out to
our venerable leader - Melvin J. Hodges, Jr. and the date was set!
July 22, 2006 was the inaugural reunion and what a day it was. Hosted
by Alum Vince Campbell (Class of 81, Drum Major 1980-81) in Madison,
Georgia, we had a great time catching up.
Vince had a cake made with Mel Baby's smiling face - the only picture
believed to be in existence where Hodge was smiling! Please visit

Great news!!! We have tentatively scheduled the 2007 reunion which
will be held in the City of Stone Mountain. The date is set for
August 11, 2007 and reunion invitations, emails and notices will be
going out soon. Contact

We look forward to seeing everyone again and expanding the list of
